- Candlelight Vigil at Jacksonport State Park
- Posted Dec. 20, 2012 midnight
- Brother Ray Fultner with Jacksonport Baptist Church, lead the candlelight vigil for the victims and their families of the Newton, CT school shooting in prayer on Monday night at Jacksonport State Park. During the vigil, Emily Bradley of Newport, sang Go Rest High On That Mountain and When I Get Where I am Going beautifully. Approximately forty to fifty people come out to show their support and to lift the family, friends, and fellow students of the victims up in prayer. A huge thanks goes to Emily and her mother, Karen Bradley for getting this event set up. Also, I would like to thank everyone who came out Monday night and those of you, who brought teddy bears, too! A special thanks also goes to Paula Jones of Tuckerman for picking up the teddy bears that were collected to be shipped off to the surviving children of Newton, CT.
