  • The decomposing body of a Grubbs man found May 21 showed “no signs of trauma,” Jackson County Sheriff David Lucas said recently.
According to Lucas, the state’s medical examiner “called to tell us that initial autopsy findings showed no signs of trauma.”
“However, we won’t know anything more until we get the full autopsy reports including toxicology and everything.”
The body of 46-year-old James Eugene Moore was discovered in a ditch east of Grubbs Monday, May 21 at approximately 9:46 a.m.
Lucas notes that with the backlog of cases at the state’s medical examiner’s office, the final results may not be known for a while.
“Unfortunately, we may not have the final reports back for a couple of months,” the Sheriff said.
