  • Newport Country Club will be the site for the 20th annual ASU Golf Tournament and dinner to promote the athletic programs of Arkansas State University Friday, June 8. ASU coaches and administrative officials will be in attendance and competing on teams of 4 or more in a scramble format. Tee time is set for 1 p.m.

  • Newport Country Club will be the site for the 20th annual ASU Golf Tournament and dinner to promote the athletic programs of Arkansas State University Friday, June 8. ASU coaches and administrative officials will be in attendance and competing on teams of 4 or more in a scramble format. Tee time is set for 1 p.m.
    Following the golf tournament there will be a barbeque supper beginning around 5 p.m. Prizes to be awarded include ASU golf shirts, golf balls, and other items. There will be prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin on selected holes, as well.
    Among those scheduled to attend include Athletic Director, Dean Lee; head football coach, Gus Malzahn; John Thompson, defensive coordinator; John Brady, head men's basketball coach; Brian Boyer, Lady Indian head basketball coach; and Doug Doug Doggett, Red Wolf Club Director. A brief program will be presented by ASU officials during the meal.
    The corporate sponsor fee is $200, which includes special corporate recognition, one person to golf, meal and complimentary ASU golf cap. Dinner tickets only to the program are $10. These tax deductible donations can be made payable to the ASU Red Wolf Club.
