Project New Start to host event

The Sixth Annual Community Celebration of Life "Say No to Drugs" will be held Saturday, June 2 at Lockwood Park in Newport.

The event will go from 3-8 p.m. and gets underway with a Fishing Derby from 3-4 p.m.  There will be two divisions - ages 4 to 12 and 13 to 18 - with a $50 prize awarded for the heaviest total weight of fish caught in both age groups.

A guest speaker takes to the podium at 4:30 p.m. and will be followed by free food at 5:30 p.m.

The Soggy Bottom Boys will provide music and live entertainment beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to come to the park and enjoy the food and fun.
