Ernie Scudder, age 67, of Jacksonville, passed away, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Baptist Springhill Medical Center in North Little Rock.
Ernie Scudder, age 67, of Jacksonville, passed away, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Baptist Springhill Medical Center in North Little Rock. He was born Aug. 7, 1944 in Newport, to the late Fred and Exie Etta Brumley Scudder.
Following graduation from Newport High School, Ernie served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. On Nov. 5, 1965 he married Elaine Kyzer in North Little Rock. Mr. Scudder was employed with several General Motor dealerships in the area as a parts manager. He was considered to be the best expert in locating parts for automobiles. He retired in 2003 to become a full time Papaw, Mr. Fix-It and traveling with Elaine and his buddy David and Pat. Ernie was preceded in death by two sisters and eight brothers.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Elaine, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer Scudder Cummings and her husband, Lance, of Jacksonville, and Amy Scudder Gibbs and her husband, Tim, of Hickory Plains; and five grandchildren, Taylor, Parker and Hayden Gibbs, Jenna and Bryce Cummings.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Chapel with Brother Larry Ballard and Leroy Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Mt.
