Dora Billingsley, 96, of Tuckerman, departed this life Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012.
She was a member of the Tuckerman First Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, gardening, quilting and canning. She was born Aug. 12, 1916 to Thomas David “Tom” and Scella Crabb Calhoun. Mrs. Billingsley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Billingsley; one infant daughter, Kathryn Marie; two sons, Ellis Billingsley and Harold Dean Billingsley; and one granddaughter, Tena Holtkamp. Her survivors are four daughters, Naomi Jane Massey of Tuckerman, Brenda Green (Eddie) of Tuckerman, Martha Zuber (Eugene) of Bradford, and Shirley Baker (Steve) of Batesville; one daughter-in-law, Ann Billingsley of New Mexico; three brothers, Robert Calhoun of Searcy, Marvin Calhoun of Jefferson, Howard Norman Calhoun of Louisiana; two sisters, Naomi Wilder of California, and Virginia Jones of Texas; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at the Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Watson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012.
