She was born Feb. 20, 1922 in Stegall, the daughter of Curt and Ressie (Chapman) Campbell.
Mrs. Birdsong was retired from the Newport Special School District, and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Huey; her second husband, Leonard Birdsong; one son, Wayne Huey; one daughter, Infant Marcia Huey; four brothers, William, Chesley, Claude, and Elton Campbell; and one sister, Ethel Cooper.
Mrs. Birdsong is survived by two sons, Ronnie Huey and wife, Wilma, of Sherwood, and Shelby Huey, and wife, Hollis, of Huntsville; one daughter, Connie Huey Bowen and husband, Jerry, of Jonesboro; two step-sons, Melvin and Gerald Birdsong, both of Vilonia; one brother, Richard Campbell of Ohio; five sisters, Bernice Tull of Flint, Mich., Ruby Nell McDougal of Flint, Mich., Wanda Tucker of Ohio, Jerald Jane Laird of Ohio, and Joyce Jean Mizack of Trenton, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Private Family Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at Carter Cemetery in Pennington.
