  • Matt Turner, a newsman for the Little Rock station KTHV, died Saturday evening in a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 30.
According to a report on file with the Arkansas State Police, Turner was alone in his car traveling west at the 111 mile marker when his 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe left the highway and struck a concrete abutment at the base of a highway sign. The car then caught fire, according to the report. Turner was pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway was wet at the time of the crash, according to the report. The officer filing the report gives no indication of the cause of the wreck.
Turner, an Arkadelphia native, joined the THV news crew earlier this year. His news articles have been published in the "Daily Siftings Herald" and he has family ties to Clark County. He leaves behind a wife and daughter. See additional information in the Siftings Herald as they become available.
