While planning for the Fall Festival, the group had problems determining where the money raised would go. Out of those planning sessions was born the Tuckerman Unity Foundation.
By-laws were adopted, officers were elected and plans were put in place.
It was decided that this was to be a group effort to help the entire community and the money raised would needed to stay local as there was a great need right here at home.
All members agreed that they should allow this money not to be used by just one or two groups, but to allow any worthy project in our community to be funded.
Any project in the community may make application to the foundation and if the membership feels that it is beneficial to the community then they can vote to fund the project.
This arrangement was unanimously voted on by the entire 19 member body of the foundation.
Community Partners include: the Tuckerman Police Department; the Tuckerman Fire Department; the Tuckerman Ambulance Service; Tuckerman City Beautiful Commission; the Tuckerman Senior Citizens; the Jackson County School District; community churches; Every Child Is Ours; the Tuckerman Literacy Council; and any other project which may be deemed beneficial to the community by the membership.
