This year the event will be held in the Parish House of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. This will be the third StoryTellers program which has proven to be one of the most popular of the Society's quarterly programs. The inaugural StoryTellers program was held in October 2012, much to the delight of the public. Due to the many requests from the membership and the community, the Jackson County Historical Society again hosted StoryTellers II last year. StoryTellers has become an annual event of the Historical Society. The meeting is open to the public and they are encouraged to attend. Former U.S. Senator Kaneaster Hodges, Jr., will act as moderator and emcee again this year, which will feature the authentic stories of: Ollie Adams Burton, Bobby Huey, Juantia Walton Pitts and Justin Rutledge. All of this year's StoryTellers are retired but remain active in family, church and community activities. Both Burton and Pitts are retired schoolteachers. Huey and Rutledge were engaged in agri-business. All four of them are Jackson County natives. In retirement, Huey and Pitts returned in Jackson County and the areas they were raised. Burton and Rutledge remained in Jackson County, married high school sweethearts, and raised their families here.
