Mr. R.E. “Bud” Wright, 84, of Newport, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012.
He was born Aug. 2, 1928 in Cash, the son of Roscoe A. and Mary Jane (Roussel) Wright.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Letha (Maddox) Wright; second wife, Alma (Worthington) Wright; and third wife, Mabel (Keller) Wright; one brother, Charles Wright; two sisters, Helen Littleton and Verona Rowlett; a half-brother, George Garland; and two half-sisters, Thelma Holdridge and Lena Borttel.
Mr. Wright is survived by three step-sons, Gerald Birdsong of Conway, Melvin Birdsong of Vilonia, and James Sackett, Jr., of Wyoming; four step-daughters, Annie Lorine Ivy of Malvern, Mary Sackett of Benton, Kimberley Drury of Florida, and Tracey McGinnis of North Little Rock; two brothers, Edsel Wright and wife, Jean of Newport, and Phillip Wright of Mississippi; two sisters, Lula Roberts of Austin, Texas and Dorothy Dehm of Jacksonville, Fla.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.
