The Tuckerman Lady Bulldogs picked up their first victory of the 2012-13 campaign Tuesday night as they upended Hillcrest, 42-32, on the road.

The Lady Bulldogs (1-2) jumped out to a 10-6 first quarter lead before extending it to 10, 21-11, at intermission.
Tuckerman continued to pull away in the third quarter as they outscored the Lady Eagles 13-6 for a 34-17 advantage after three.
Hannah Dilday collected a double-double for Tuckerman with 12 points and 15 rebounds while Sara Shipman chipped in with 10 points and 6 steals.
In senior boys action, the Bulldogs fell behind early in the contest and battled throughout as they suffered their first loss of the season, 70-50, to Hillcrest.
The Eagles led 16-8 at the end of the first quarter and 38-20 at halftime.
“We played them about even in the second half,” Coach Morgan Gilbert said, “but, it was too little, too late.”
Spencer Shannon led the Bulldogs with 23 points while Cade Niswonger had 11.  Tyler Chatman added 6 points while Brandun Barnett and Matt Slagley had 4 points each.  Michael Boling rounded out the scoring with 2.  
Slagley grabbed 6 rebounds and Niwonger dished out 8 assists in the loss.
The loss by the Bulldogs came on the heels of Thursday’s thrilling finish in their home opener as Niswonger’s basket at the buzzer gave Tuckerman a 59-57 victory over Weiner.
Niswonger’s 34 points led the Bulldogs while Shannon tossed in 17.  Rowan Mason chipped in with 6 points and Dylan Person added 2.
Slagley led the Bulldogs in rebounds with 5.
Tuckerman (2-1) will host Ridgefield Christian Academy Monday night at 5 p.m. before hosting Bradford Friday night for homecoming.
