An apparent drive-by shooting at one Newport residence has officers searching for answers.

According to a press release issued by the Lt. Patrick Weathford, of the Newport Police Department, officers were dispatched to 115 Erwin Street at approximately 9:53 p.m. Saturday night.
Upon their arrival, occupants of the residence told the authorities that a "small car drove by the house and fired several shots from the roadway."
A vehicle parked in the front yard and the house had been struck during the incident but none of the bullets penetrated the structure and no was one injured.
No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
