The Performance-Based Student Support Funds award is a reflection of the strategies and activities that the ASUN Career Pathways staff adds to the University’s three campuses, and is based on institutional performance on annual goals.
The Arkansas Career Pathways Initiative (CPI) is a comprehensive program that enables local two-year colleges to offer those who qualify career training and college courses.  The Initiative emphasizes program components, such as job readiness skills, basic academic skills preparation, remediation, and post-secondary credentials that lead to high wage, high demand occupations.
CPI fosters strong connections among two-year colleges, students, community-based organizations, state agencies, and employers.  The primary purpose of the initiative is to address the "education gap" as a vehicle through which the "economic gap" can be closed.
Arkansas State University-Newport is a degree granting community college with campuses in Jonesboro, Marked Tree and Newport, Arkansas.  It is a part of the Arkansas State University System.  For more information about what is going on at ASU-Newport, visit us on our Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/ASUNewport, where you will find news and photos highlighting achievements and events at all three campuses.  Follow us on Twitter for quick information about what is going on at ASUN by following @ASUNewport.
