Melvin C. Eudy "Clint," born Nov. 20th 1941, died Nov. 9th 2012 of an unexpected illness.
He was raised on a rice farm in Arkansas until he turned 18 years old when he joined the United States Navy to get away from the farm life. He retired after 28 years in the Navy in 1993 and moved permanently to Salem, Ore. where he started driving a school bus in 1995 for the Cascade School District. He retired from that in 2012 after 17 years of driving a bus, which he loved very much.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Eudy, of Salem, Ore.; a son, Robert Eudy of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Terry Ricketts, of Salem, Ore.; three grandchildren, Zack Eudy, Joshua Eudy and Tasia Eudy; several step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Marva Eudy, Thelma Guffy, and Dale Eudy.
He was a great man and very well respected by all who knew him. He lived by strict military rules but had a big heart and made friends wherever he would go. He will be dearly missed by all, but he is in a better place.
Viewing will be Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 21 2012 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Ballew's Chapel.
