Playing for the second time in two nights, the Newport Greyhounds again faltered in the second half to fall 66-53 to the Rivercrest Colts.

Newport led 18-16 at the end of the first quarter only to trail 38-37 at halftime.
Rivercrest outscored the Hounds 13-8 in the third period to take a 51-45 into the final eight minutes where they pulled away.  The Colts outscored Newport 15-8 in the fourth.
Markus Neal led three Hounds in double-digit scoring with a game-high 19 points.  Kristen Crite added 13 and Greyhound big man Asante Shell had 10.  Lorenzo Ollison had 5 while Khairan Stafford and Charles Malone had 2 points each.
Garrett Lane, son of former Newport Greyhound Russell Lane, led three Rivercrest with 14 points.  Khalil Williams added 13 and Marquez Chew added 10.
Newport will play Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. after traveling to Dollarway Friday night to begin conference play.
