  • Two White County residents suspects in stabbing

  • Two White County residents are being held on felony charges at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office following two separate incidents that resulted in a Jackson County citizen being stabbed and property damage.

  • According to Sheriff David Lucas, the arrest was made Monday morning at a residence on Jackson County Road # 6 by Lt. Stacey Sullivan, who was assisted by Deputies Colton Thornton and Justin Staggs.
    Officers first responded to the home of Melvin Allgood, age 40, Sunday night around 9:30 p.m. after they received a call that Allgood had sustained non-life threatening injuries to his arm. Allgood was transported by North Star EMS to White County Medical Center where he was treated.
    The suspects, identified as Thomas Jones, 51, and Michael Doerhoff, 50, were arrested three hours later at a residence on Jackson Co. Road # 6 after they drove through the homeowner’s pasture and attempted to drive into the house.
    Lt. Shannon Webb charged Michael Doerhoff with Aggravated Assault, Battery 1st, Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespassing. Thomas Jones was charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespassing. They will appear before Judge Barbara A. Griffin for first judicial hearing later today.
