Despite four Bulldogs scoring in double figures, Tuckerman fell Tuesday night to Cedar Ridge 80-71 in what was their first conference loss of the season.
The Bulldogs (14-3, 5-1) jumped out to a 20-15 lead at the end of the first quarter but Cedar Ridge stormed back in the second taking a 38-33 lead into the half. The Timberwolves continued their surge in the third quarter outscoring Tuckerman 23-15 to take a 61-48 lead into the final frame. "They pulled away with a big third, we closed the gap some in the fourth but couldn't catch them," said Bulldogs coach Morgan Gilbert. Cade Niswonger led the scoring for Tuckerman pouring in 29 points in the losing effort. Brandun Barnett added 12 points while Spencer Shannon and Derek Dean chipped in 10 a piece. In senior girls action, the Lady Bulldogs dropped their contest 71-39 to Cedar Ridge. The game was tight throughout the first half with the Lady Timberwolves holding a slight 16-9 advantage at the end of the first. Tuckerman bounced back in the second quarter outscoring Cedar Ridge 14-10 taking them to the half trailing 26-23. Cedar Ridge took over from there out scoring the Lady Bulldogs 23-8 in the third quarter and 22-8 in the final quarter. Hannah Dilday led Tuckerman in scoring with 12 points while Hailey Clark added 10 of her own. The Bulldogs will be on road tomorrow night at Walnut Ridge and again at Cotter Tuesday, Dec. 18. The junior girls will tip off both games at 5 p.m., followed by the senior girls and senior boys action.
