Dale Owens, 77, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012.
He was born March 25, 1935 in Swifton, AR to Orvin and Francis Owens. He graduated from Swifton High School in 1953. While in high school, he met Helen Fowler whom he married in 1955. He served in the US Army during peacetime as a cryptographer at the Pentagon from 1957-1959. Dale was well known as a respected residential and commercial remodeling contractor, specializing in custom work and design for 43 years. His work was featured on the covers of Oklahoma Home and Lifestyleand Distributor magazines. Dale was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bethany. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen; son, Roger and his wife Parthena; daughter, Kelley; grandchildren, Jamie, Cameron and Kori, all of OKC; sister, Linda and her husband Larry Templeton and brother, Gary and his wife Suzanne, all of Swifton, AR. Dale was loved like a brother by his wife’s siblings, John, Powell, Joyce, Gary, Dave and Dennis. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Don, and sister, Evelyn. Funeral services were held Friday, January 4, 10:00am at First Baptist Church of Bethany, Oklahoma. Dale was laid to rest in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery following the service.
