January 2012 marked the beginning of free tours at most Arkansas State Park museums, including Jacksonport State Park.

We are now offering scheduled guided tours of the Courthouse Museum at Jacksonport.  Travel back in time to experience the courthouse as it was seen during the 19th century.  In the courtroom, discover historical court cases tried at Jacksonport, including a murder trial.  See how the Civil War affected the town and its residents through first-hand accounts.  Your tour guide will be dressed in period costume and will take you on this special tour through the courthouse as well as the courtyard grounds.  Guided tours are free of charge and conducted the first Friday of each month with the tour beginning at 2pm.  Each tour will last approximately 45 minutes.  The dates for the guided tour are February 1, March 1, and April 5.  The courthouse is wheelchair accessible.
