Arkansas State University-Newport will hold a Women’s Self-Defense class Feb. 4-5 in Walton Hall on the Newport campus.

The class is free and open to the public and will run from 6:00-8:00 p.m. both nights.  Monday’s class will be held in Walton Hall Room 127, while Tuesday’s session will meet in the gymnasium. Intended for women in their upper teens or above, the class will be conducted by Chuck Coe and is limited to the first 20 who register.  Monday’s class will consist predominantly of a lecture session, while Tuesday’s session will feature hands-on training.  Women attending the class should wear comfortable clothing, including long-sleeve shirts, exercise or sweat pants and athletic shoes.  Water will be provided.
