One night while driving home, I couldn’t help but to admire the town decorated with red and green lights. Angels were on display, nativity scenes, snowmen and much more. The neighborhoods were surely glamorous from all the Christmas decorations.
However, my attention was truly captured when I noticed the beautiful Christmas trees shining through the windows with sparkling bright lights. It was amazing how the clear lights sent off a peaceful feeling and a sense of tranquility throughout the whole neighborhood. At this point my focus was turned to Jesus.
In John 8:12, Jesus spoke to the people saying, “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
The Psalmist David spoke of God as light: “The LORD is my light and my salvation.” (Psalm 27:1)   The Prophet Isaiah promised, “The LORD shall be your light forever.”  (Isaiah 60:9)  Moreover, God has always been associated with light. Light is beautiful and mysterious. It helps us see things. It gives us the truth. It guides us through the tough times of life. It comforts us and brings us peace and calmness. Light promotes growth and most importantly, light brings us everlasting life.
