  • Day 17: Hope is an anchor — plus a free printable for Easter
  • anchor2Sometimes I wrestle with the meaning of words, even with Webster’s help. This time, it wasn’t until I scanned through the modern day definitions and made it to the archaic that hope started to make sense.

    archaic : trust

And then, there it was as a transitive verb…

to expect with confidence : trust

These issues I’m having with hope? How I seem to lose it so quickly? Maybe it has something to do with trust — and with prepositions.

I struggle with hope when I focus on what I’m hoping for instead of Who my hope is in.

    Read that again. Slowly.

And remind me of that when I don’t get what I want, when I stop trusting. Remind me that hope is in fact an anchor, and it is steady even when I am not.

Today we have a special gift, courtesy of my talented friend Jessica Goosey. I happen to love subway art and decorating with scriptures. She combined those two things into the perfect printable. Just add an 8×10 frame and put it on your mantel. May it be a blessing…
