He was born April 18, 1947 in Newport, the son of T. S. Stephens and Ethel (Fortney) Stephens.
Mr. Stephens was an EMT and Firefighter. He was the co-owner of Stephens Printing in Newport. He is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and Vietnam War. He was a member of the AARP, American Legion, VFW post 4683, and DAV Chapter 34. He loved gardening, bird watching, attending church, playing with grandchildren, and taking care of people. He was also an Eagle Scout.
His father and mother preceded Mr. Stephens in death.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Patricia A. Conditt Stephens; his step-mother, Peggy Stephens: one son, Ronnie T. Stephens, Jr. and wife Sheri of Conway; one daughter, Melanie D. Toan and husband James of Newport, Two step brothers David Gullic and wife Amy Louise of Blytheville and Dr. Phillip Gullic and wife Kim of Conway; five grandchildren , Dustin Stokes, Madison Stephens, Emma Stephens, Loftin Stokes, and Samuel Stephens.
Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 13 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Newport. Interment followed in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Friends visited the funeral home Tuesday, March 12, from 6 ~ 8 p.m.
