The Arkansas State University-Newport Continuing Education Department will offer a class entitled “Getting Back to Basics” July 18 & 19 as part of its Life-Long Learning series.

Bring your sewing machine to ASU-Newport for “Getting Back to Basics,” where the Jackson County Extension Homemakers will help attendees hone their sewing skills.  In this two-day session, attendees will learn more about their sewing machines and how to thread a bobbin, make a button hole, hem pants, and other basic necessities of sewing.  Class begins at 9:30 a.m. on both days.
