      Other items addressed Tuesday:
      • Directors met in executive session for approximately 20 minutes to evaluate the performance of Arkadelphia City Manager Jimmy Bolt.

"He (Bolt) is doing a very good job and we're going to continue to give the support he needs to lead us in the direction the city needs to go," said Arkadelphia Mayor Chuck Hollingshead.

      • A nomination to appoint Euodias Goza to the Arkadelphia Water and Sewer Committee was approved. Goza's term will expire on Feb. 17, 2015.
  • The Arkadelphia Board of Directors learned Tuesday that work on the DeSoto Bluff Trail is finished and the trail is now open for the public.
Work to improve the trail began earlier this year. The trail has been paved and guardrails have been installed at the bluff.
Bolt commended the city's street department for creating the entrance drive, parking lot, sign placement, and entrance gate.
According to Bolt, city staff has applied for a grant to purchase trash receptacles, benches, and picnic tables at the bluff.
Bolt said a way-finding sign and interpretive signs will be installed soon.
