Fireworks explode over the State Capitol during Pops on the River in Little Rock.


Independence Day is traditionally celebrated with fireworks displays, which evoke the history of the Revolutionary War. Just as Francis Scott Key wrote in the Star Spangled Banner, “oh the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air…” today we celebrate not with live ammunition but a pyrotechnic show that’s a glory to see.
