  • A 30-year-old Stuttgart man was arrested Saturday after walking around town naked.
At approximately 6:15 a.m., Stuttgart Police Department Sgt. Keith Smith saw the man near First Christian Church at the intersection of 10th and Main streets.
"The man was making no effort to cover himself or hide," Smith wrote in his incident report that was released Monday. "When I pulled into the parking lot the man started to walk off toward Ninth Street."
Smith ordered the man to stop, but he continued walking until he was ordered to stop a second time. The suspect gave officers several different stories as to why he was walking around naked, including that his cousin had started to beat him while he was in bed, that his cousin's boyfriend had started a fight with him and that his cousin's husband had "jumped on him and beat him up."
The officer asked if it was correct that he was at a home asleep when someone attacked him, and he told the officer that he was not inside a home when it happened.
The man was then placed under arrest for disorderly conduct, which is a misdemeanor offense.
