Following the autopsy results that revealed that Cory Monteith's cause of death was due to a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol, a rep for Lea Michele has released a statement on her behalf.
"Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she's received from family, friends, and fans," the statement said. "Since Cory's passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory's family."
The Glee star was found dead on Saturday in a hotel in downtown Vancouver, Canada at the age of 31. During a news conference held on Saturday night, Canadian police noted that Monteith had been deceased for some time before his body was found, but foul play was not suspected. In March, He had voluntarily admitted himself in a treatment facility for substance addiction.
Monteith, who previously entered rehab for drug abuse when he was 19, was best known for playing Finn Hudson on the Fox musical dramedy, while Michele played his girlfriend on-screen and off. The pair had been dating for over a year prior to his death.
