The first Hot Springs International Horror Film Festival is set for September 26-29. The aim is to bring together filmmakers and fans for a weekend that highlights films from all over the world. The festival will have films from the Horror, Sci-Fi, Thriller and Fantasy genres and will feature both shorts and full-length films.

The 4-day event will be held in Central Theater, the oldest Motion Picture Theater in Hot Springs. Newly renovated, the theater is located at 1008 Central Avenue. The festival will also have educational workshops and more at Grand Central Hall, which adjoins the theater.

horrortimeFestival hostess Tamara Glynn who played “Samantha Thomas” in “Halloween 5” will be helping with the festival. And there are a lot of big names of the genre making their way to the festival including Eileen Dietz, of “The Exorcist” fame, Special Effects Make Up Artist Eric Fox, SFX Make Up Artist Tim Welch, Tyler Mane, the only actor to play Michael Myers in two consecutive films, Lesleh Donaldson, star of many early ’80s horror films like “Funeral Home”, and more.

The festival director is Bill Volland and the festival is being overseen by the Hot Springs Arts & Film Institute. For more details check out hotspringshorrorfilmfestival.com
