There will be a benefit for Cathy Lassiter beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, August 10, at the People Helping People Building in Amagon. There will be a miscellaneous auction, catfish plates, live music and a cake/pie auction.

Cathy Lassiter is a Newport native whom has been a nurse for 40 years. She has been a dedicated nurse almost her entire life and is willing to help anybody anyway she possibly could. She is known by many for being the head nurse of CCU at Newport Hospital. On June 17, she was involved in a tragic vehicle accident on her way home from work, she sustained severe injuries and has been on leaver from work since. Due to being flown to The Med in Memphis, Tenn and having constructive surgery to an evulsion on her head the medical bills have stack dup. Fortunately, she does have medical insurance, although; we have been traveling back and forth the Memphis every other Monday for her checkups with a specialist. Any items donated such as food, drinks, items to be auctioned or any other donations will be greatly appreciated.
