According to Lt. Patrick Weatherford, Newport Police Department, at around 11 p.m. August 12, officers were dispatched to Harris Hospital where they made contact with Grady who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Police were able to determine that Grady was dropped off at the hospital and walked inside and told the staff he had been shot.
According to police Grady had been shot at least twice and was uncooperative with investigators and would not provide any information about the shooting.
Police say Grady was transferred to a Little Rock hospital and as of Tuesday he was in stable condition and is expected to survive.
"The Newport Police Department 9-1-1 dispatch center, which handles 9-1-1 calls for the entire county, did not receive any shots fired calls in the hours before this shooting," said Weatherford. "At this time, we do not know where this incident occurred."
