Arkansas State University-Newport’s Continuing Education department will offer a class entitled “Computer Basics for Adult Learners” beginning Sept. 24 as part of its Life-Long Learning Series.
The six-week course will run through October 29 and will meet from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday nights in room 112 of Walton Hall on the Newport campus. The class will help people who are new to the world of computers get comfortable and gain confidence in their ability to use computers. At the end of the class, students will have a basic understanding of how to use their computer for writing letters, paying bills, and communicating with family and friends. During class, students will learn how to use a mouse, set up and use an e-mail account, track expenses and attach photos and documents to an e-mail. The cost of the class is $30.00 and a jump drive for each student is included in this fee.
