According to Jackson County Sheriff David Lucas, the Sheriff's Department received a call form the Jonesboro Police Department at around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday morning regarding a possible murder that occurred in a rural area in Jackson County.
At around 12:40 p.m. police say they found the body of Hagar in a ditch on County Road 42.
According to police Hagar had been shot in the head.
The body was transported to Jackson's Funeral Home and will be sent to the state medical examiners office for an autopsy.
On August 22, Lee and Chamblis went before Jackson County District Judge Barbara Griffin following the questioning of both individuals in connecting with the shooting death of Hagar.
Lee was arraigned on charges of first degree murder, aggravated robbery and abuse of a corpse.
Chambliss was charged with aggravated robbery and abuse of a corpse.
Bond was set at $500,000 for both individuals and they are expected to appear in circuit court on September 19.
