  • Man pleads guilty to murder of former Greyhound

  • Christopher Bryant, 25, of Salem, Arkansas pled guilty to Murder in the Second Degree, Battery in the Second Degree and Criminal Mischief today according to Henry H. Boyce, Prosecuting Attorney for the Third Judicial District of Arkansas. Bryant was sentenced to 37 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction.

  • Bryant and Severin Simpson, 27, of Batesville were occupants of a vehicle in the early morning hours of January 5, 2013 in Sharp County, along with two females. As Simpson drove, Bryant pulled a gun and shot Simpson in the back of the head. Bryant fled the scene and was apprehended later in the day in Sharp County after an extensive manhunt and the charge of Murder was filed. Battery and Criminal Mischief charges were filed against Bryant resulting from an incident at the Sharp County jail on January 21, 2013 when Bryant fought with a law enforcement officer and attempted to flee the jail.
