The Adult Education Department located on the campus of Arkansas State University-Newport will offer the two-part GED test seven times during the remainder of the 2013 fall semester.  Testing dates for Fall 2013 are:

September 23-24 (Monday/Tuesday) October 7-8 (Monday/Tuesday) October 21-22 (Monday/Tuesday) November 4-5 (Monday/Tuesday) November 18-19 (Monday/Tuesday) December 2-3 (Monday/Tuesday) December 9-10 (Monday/Tuesday) On both Monday and Tuesday testing dates, the test will begin at 8:30 a.m.  Tests will be given in the Adult Education Department in White River Hall, and students must be present for both days of testing. Candidates must pre-register and must fulfill preliminary testing requirements prior to taking the Official GED exam. Contact the Adult Education Center at (870) 512-7824 to determine eligibility.  Individuals planning to take the test should be aware that in January 2014, we ASUN be beginning a new test series and any scores previously earned will not be considered. The Tests of General Educational Development (GED) are internationally recognized.  They have been designed to measure academic skills and knowledge in core content areas that are learned during the four years of high school.  When an adult passes the GED test the resulting Arkansas High School Diploma certifies that he or she has attained knowledge and skills associated with high school completion.  The GED Tests battery includes subject area tests in Language Arts, Writing, Social Studies, Science, Reading, and Mathematics.  GED tests are offered in English, Spanish, and French and are free of charge to all who take the test.
