Thomas Shacklett, Jr., 75, of Higden, Arkansas passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013. He was born March 18, 1938 to Thomas and Hilda Shacklett in Nashville, Tennessee. Thomas grew up in Nashville until he decided to serve his country through service in the United States Air Force. He valiantly served his country until his retirement from the U.S.A.F. in 1985. Thomas had a very active life after retirement. He was a member of the Master Masons lodge in Belleview, Nebraska, a member of the Shriner’s Club in Little Rock, a lifetime member of the Veterans’ of Foreign Wars, a member of the American Legion, and a volunteer member of the Arkansas Coast Guard.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Marie Shacklett; one son, Thomas S. (Tyan) Shacklett, III and his children: Logan, Taylor, and Landon; one daughter, Teresa (James) McShaffery and her children: Ryan and Jill; two step-daughters, Caryn (Richard) Chambers and Linda Calmes; two sisters, Beverly Windstead and Suzie Williams; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several friends.
