The club has been active for many years
and they encourage all residents of Jackson County to be a part of this vital community
They meet monthly on the 2nd Tuesday at noon in various restaurants
or member’s’ homes.
The group's goal is to help to all new residents and assist them as they make this friendly community, a place they want to call home for a long time.
The Newport Newcomer's Club supports the Women’s Shelter, the Humane Society, the Learning Center,
Project New Start, and the School Back Pack Program. They do this with their yearly dues ($20)
and two yearly fundraisers – Salad Luncheon in June and Souper Tuesday
Newcomers’ Souper Tuesday fundraiser will be October 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A donation will be taken at the door to be given to local community service groups.
Everyone is invited to join them at Newport First United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall.
