Pearl Agnes Reid Roediger died in her sleep at the age of 106, on Oct. 20, 2013. Pearl was born on Dec. 18, 1906, near White City, Kan. She was one of seven children born to Robert and Lena Amthauer.

She was baptized in the White City Methodist Church. She attended Stone Chapel Country School in Morris County, Kan.
She married Harvey Edwin Roediger on Sept. 10, 1924. They established their home on a farm five miles from Junction City, Kan. They had two children, Lorena Joan Roediger and Norvan Wayne Roediger. Pearl was active in the School P.T.A. and Farm Bureau Women's Association.
In 1948, Pearl and Harvey moved their family into Junction City where she joined the First Methodist Church and became an active member in the Women's Circle. While living in Junction City, she became a Personal Property Assessor for Geary County, Kan., for 15 years. In 1976, they moved to Solomon, Kan., where they lived until Harvey 's death on Feb. 11, 1988. Pearl then moved to Shreveport, La., to live with her daughter, Lorena R. Kennedy. She became an active member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. She moved to Arkadelphia, on May 9, 2012, where she lived with her daughter, Lorena Kennedy and grandson, Larry Kennedy and wife, Ro until her death.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lena Reid; brothers, Arthur Reid and Joseph Reid; sisters, Elizabeth Reid Pierce, Nellie Reid Soderburg, Mary Reid Hartung and Ruby Reid Anderson; one great-grandchild; and one son-in-law, Craig Kennedy.
Survivors are her daughter, Lorena R. Kennedy of Arkadelphia; her son, Norvan W. Roediger and wife, Barbara of Wellington, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Gary Kennedy and wife, Lydia, Judy Storer and husband, Craig, Larry Kennedy and wife, Ro, Richard Roediger and wife, Mona, Conrad Roediger, Melo Roediger and wife, Liz, Rosalie Roediger, Gloria Roediger and Patricia Roediger; 33 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.
