As previously reported, Adams resigned from office October 9, 2012 after an audit was performed by the Arkansas Joint Legislative Auditing Committee.
Audit results show Adams issued unauthorized checks to herself ($7,700); cashed, rather than deposited business franchise tax checks issued to the town ($14,489) and cashed town checks she issued to other funds ($25,704).
Adams was ordered to repay the Town of Weldon $47,893, the Arkansas Division of Legislative Audit $1,600 for their investigative expenses, and a $2,500 fine to Jackson County.
According to Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Henry Boyce, Adams paid $25,000 at the time of her plea and will pay the remainder in monthly installments of $250 per month.
Adams will serve 10 years of supervised probation.
