Recently, Newport High School's HOSA - Future Health Professionals, JAG, and Internship teamed together in order to raise toys and monetary donations for the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

At the end of the fundraiser, it was determined that there were eight boxes of toys and over $2,400. With the money that was collected, the kids participating met at Walmart to buy toys. Amongst coutless other items, an iPod Touch, portable DVD players and digital cameras were purchsed. Shortly following, roughly 40 juniors and seniors took a trip to the St. Jude Hospital, where they were presented with the toys and the Newport group toured their facility. It was a great learning experience for all of the students, and they hope to establish it as a tradition for the years to come.
