The Classic Film series continues at the Jackson County Library with Mr. Smith Goes to Washington being shown at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 7.

The film is directed by Frank Capra and stars James Stewart, Jean Arthur and Claude Rains. Jimmy Stewart portrays a nave man appointed to fill a vacancy in the U.S. Senate. His plans collide with political corruption, but he does not back down from his stand. Other films to be shown this year are Dr. Strangelove, Boy's Town, Wizard of Oz, All Quiet on the Western Front, Rear Window, Meet Me in St. Louis, High Noon, Star Wars (the first one), Bringing Up Baby, and Wait Until Dark. Popcorn and drinks are provided.
