Former Newport resident and current Little Rock author and resident, Lori Plegge, has published When Tomorrow Starts Without Me, a book that tells the true story about the life and death of her son, Anthony. Even though the loss of a child is a very tragic thing, Lori has managed to take that tragedy and turn it into something positive to help others.

For a limited time, (Sunday, March 2 through Saturday, March 8) an electronic book version of WhenTomorrow Starts Without Me, normally priced at $4.99, will be available to the public as a free download at Smashwords at, coupon code DX65P.

On March 16, 2007, Lori lost her oldest son Anthony.

"When Tomorrow Starts Without Me is a non-fiction book that was written in order to help other parents who have lost a child realize they are not alone in the world.  It is to help them understand the emotions they are going through: anger, sadness, why my child, what did I do that was so bad, blaming themselves, trying to fill that void with food, etc. are all normal," explained Plegge. "It also lets the reader know that everyone deals with death differently and it takes some longer than others to overcome the grief. Parents also need to realize they have to face the world even though they have suffered a tremendous loss.  Their child would want them to continue living life to its fullest not hide away from the rest of the world."

Lori Plegge, author and resident of Little Rock, lives with her husband Cliff and two remaining sons, Kevin and Brett.

Lori was raised in Newport, AR and at the age of 19 moved to Mississippi. She says her life has changed a lot since she lost her son.

She has started a Facebook page called When Tomorrow Starts Without Me for people who have lost a loved one.

She has also helped start a Little Rock chapter for Compassionate Friends where parents worldwide who have lost their children get together and light a candle in memory of their child/children.
