Arkansas Steel Wins Arkansas Large Manufacturer of the Year from Arkansas District Export Council
Arkansas Steel Associates were named the 2014 Arkansas Large Manufacturer of the Year by the Arkansas District Export Council.
The Arkansas District Export Council recently announced the 2014 Governor's Awards for Excellence in Global Trade. Exporting remains high on Arkansas's economic growth agenda and these awards are about recognizing excellence along with the achievements and export contribution of Arkansas businesses.
The event aims to provide inspiration and encouragement for others to take forward their export potential. Exporting continues to present an opportunity for Arkansas to bring immediate and sustainable growth to its economy. With this in mind, we need to lay down the baton to businesses across Arkansas to consider exporting as a realistic opportunity for growth.
The Governor's Award for Excellence in Global Trade showcased success stories, like Arkansas Steel Associates, but even more importantly, act as an exporting call to action to the Arkansas business community. The awards program will make continue to make a positive impact through the profiling of winning businesses during their year of recognition. This will provide long term exposure and extended coverage while also creating a legacy that further enhances the potential for exporting among the Arkansas business community.
A group of local leaders, including Mayor David Stewart, Chamber Director Julie Allen, NEDC Director Jon Chadwell, NEDC Commissioner Scott Foushee, and Charley Appleby, Vice-President for Economic and Workforce Development with Arkansas State University-Newport attend the luncheon at the Governor's Mansion with a number of members of the Arkansas Steel management team.
