Internationally acclaimed Nashville singer/songwriters Lewis and Lewis will be presenting a special concert of unique and original gospel music, at 7 p.m .August 17, a the Jacksonport Baptist Church.
Ray and Laura Lewis are a husband and wife duo that deliver an entertaining, spiritually enriching performance of self-penned compositions that transcend sales and genres. They've spent a lifetime setting the gospel to music and living the song. Although their unique presentation has been called everything from a "breath of fresh air" to an "inspirational hoot" the couple insist they are just real people, singing real songs about a real gospel that impacts real life.
Their presentation is personal, intimate, and interspersed with real-life stories that inspired the songs they sing. As their musical odyssey unfolds, one finds ample opportunity for both laughter and tears.
The music of Lewis & Lewis has been recorded by an impressive list of both gospel and secular artists from the Happy Goodman Family, to Grand Ole Opry Star Connie Smith and three-time Academy Award Nominee, Actress Bette Midler. Their music video, "Come On Down to the Farm" holds the record as the most-watched religious video on the internet chalking up over three-million YouTube viewers. They were first to record the classic song "God Walks on Dark Hills", and have penned numerous soul-stirring sons like, "Winner Either Way", Walking Back Down" and "I'll Go On."
