November marked the one year anniversary of the WRMC Medical Complex Newport, an affiliate of White River Health System (WRHS).  Renovations to the former Kroger building transformed the former grocery store into a multi-specialty clinic for the residents of Newport and Jackson County. The facility also includes Attention Home Medical Supply and Norman Baker Pharmacy.
More than 700 patients receive care each month from providers specializing in Cardiology, General Surgery, Interventional Pain Management, Oncology, Orthopaedics, and Wound Care. Outpatient care includes Physical Therapy, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Diagnostic Radiology (MRI, X-ray), and Laboratory.
To expand the availability of care, the WRMC Medical Complex After Hours Clinic has been providing weekend care Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8 AM to 8 PM.   The Newport Diagnostic Clinic provides primary care services to Newport and Jackson County residents Monday thru Thursday.
“When we opened the Newport Diagnostic Medical Clinic in 2007, Newport and Jackson county residents were supportive and welcoming,” said Gary L. Bebow, WRHS CEO. “When the Kroger building became available, it was the perfect opportunity to expand the healthcare services.  We’ve received positive feedback and exceptional community support.  We look forward to continuing working with residents and the medical community to provide quality medical care to Newport and Jackson County.”
As part of the celebration, employees of the WRMC Medical Complex delivered Thanksgiving cookies to local city departments in appreciation for their help during the first year.
