The Second Annual Delta Regional Arts Show has seen tremendous growth in its second year.
The number of buildings used doubled, and the number of artists participating in the exhibition more than tripled, according to Newport Economic Development Commission director and Delta Regional Arts Committee member Jon Chadwell.
“We went from having one building to two, and the artists were packed in them as tight as we could get them,” Chadwell said. “The first year we had 13 artists, and this year we had 40.”
The show was held inside the NEDC building and at the Iron Mountain Depot this year.
Attendance by the public also increased dramatically compared to last year‘s figures on turnout.
“Last year, we had 187 people come through the show,” Chadwell said. “Including the volunteers, we had more than 500 people attend this year.”
People from 8 different states and 48 Arkansas communities were among those in attendance Saturday.
