The Blue Bridge Center for the Delta Arts will host the 4th Annual Delta Visual Arts Show on Saturday in downtown Newport.
The show begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. with a reception from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This year’s show features more than one hundred artists from five states.
The primary focus of the show is to display the work of artists who grew up in the Delta, live or have lived in the Delta or who produce Delta themed work.
The show will be held at the Iron Mountain Train Depot on Front Street, the Newport Business Resource Center on Hazel Street, the old Post Office on Hazel Street and the Old First National Bank building on Front Street (the John Minor Building).
There have been a number of changes to the show. Now, you will find more than ever when you come to downtown Newport! There is something for everyone, young or just young at heart!
Make no mistake! There will be plenty of paintings, but the Delta Visual Arts Show is so much more than just paintings. There will also be jewelry from leather, acrylic painting, pen and ink, sculpture in clay, photography, portrait art, sculpture in bronze, oil paintings, fused glass, water color painting, jewelry from metal, colored pencil, mixed media, print making, graphite, metal work, woodcarving, sculpture in metal, raku, ceramics, pastels, plaster, found objects, artistic furniture design, leaded glass, pottery, woodburning and more.
You are guaranteed to find something you like at the show. Come out and see some of the best visual art in the South, right here in downtown Newport.
This year the Art Express Shuttle Train will be running between all four buildings and the Children's Area.
Park at one place and ride the train from venue to venue.
Get off, browse and then catch the train to the next place. Or just ride the train around downtown Newport for fun!
The train is free and available thanks to the Newport Area Chamber of Commerce. Bringing young ones to the Art Show? The Art Express will be one of the highlights of their day!

MJ's Art Cafe is will be open at MJ's regular location this year. With an anticipated record crowd in attendance, MJ's will be able to better serve you at their place.

Walk on over for a great lunch or feel free to visit one of our other fine establishments in town
You might just be able to win the money to buy your favorite piece of art. Drawings will be held for Art Bucks Door Prizes during the Delta Visual Arts Show.
You can register one time at each of the four buildings for drawings to be held at 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm and 4:30 pm. Prizes range from $100 to $200 in Art Bucks which can be used to buy from any artist at the show!

There is no admission fee, no charge to park, no charge for the Art Express Train, no charge for the workshops!
