Saturday, February 25th was the day of the 2017 Delta Visual Arts Show. It is a free annual Fine Arts Show held in multiple venues in downtown Newport, Arkansas.  The 2017 Show was held from 10 am to 6 pm. The show has grown to feature almost 200 artists coming from five states and over 60 Arkansas communities. The Delta Visual Art Show is held on the last Saturday in February each year and is promoted by the Blue Bridge Center for the Delta Arts. The Blue Bridge Center for the Delta Arts project is a joint project of the Iron Mountain Regional Arts Council, the Downtown Revitalization and Improvement Volunteer Effort (DRIVE), Entergy, the City of Newport, the Newport Economic Development Commission, Merchants and Planters Bank, and hundreds of local volunteers. Development of the show was facilitated by the Clinton School of Public Service in Little Rock. This year substantial funding for the show was made possible through a major Collaborative Projects Support Grant through the Arkansas Arts Council. Funding for advertising is supplied through the Ozark Gateway Tourist Council.
