The Tuckerman High School History Club recently traveled to Pocahontas to Black River Technical College to hear a former Negro League Baseball player speak about his experience. Mr. Dennis Biddle is originally from Magnolia, Arkansas. At 17 years old, he was the youngest player in the Negro Baseball League and was a pitcher for the Chicago American Giants. He had a short career due to breaking his leg. Biddle now travels the nation speaking about his experiences and promoting the Yesterday's Negro League Baseball Players Foundation, which works to support the surviving players. The Tuckerman High School students joined several other schools and community members in hearing his story. At the end of the presentation, schools were able to take photos with Mr. Biddle.
